Three Little Birds Distillery began the way most good things do: with a love of music, a passion for local produce, and a curiosity that kept pushing us further than we expected.
The name comes from Bob Marley's "Three Little Birds" — but really, it's from Philly, an indigenous Australian singer whose own version of the song stopped us in our tracks. In the interview before his performance, he talked about celebrating each other, working together, and living in peace, love and unity. Those words became our compass.
We began distilling in Adelaide, learning fast, making mistakes, and discovering just how extraordinary the botanical world of South Australia really is. Lemon myrtle. Strawberry gum. Geraldton wax. Pepperberry. These aren't just ingredients — they're stories about the land we live on.
Our process starts where most distilleries don't: we use grapes from Jeanneret to start our base spirit. We brew our own spirit base from scratch before a single botanical goes near the still. It takes longer, but the results speak for themselves.
Eventually, we found our home in the Clare Valley — at 22 Jeanneret Road, Sevenhill. The gum trees, the red soil, the long afternoons. It felt right.
